2011年7月26日，中国首家以高高原机场为运行基地的航空公司——西藏航空正式首航。作为西藏本土航空公司，西藏航空在运行不到一年的时间里，顺利完成了区内五个民航机场的RNP验证试飞，并最终实现了西藏区内民航机场的全覆盖和拉萨夜航常态化。随着其平稳快速的发展，2017年，西藏航空全年运输旅客总量达400万人次，成为了国内航空公司中成立时间最短开通涉藏航线最多、西藏民航市场份额占比最重的航空公司。

Tibet Airlines, the first airline of China with the Very High Elevation Airport as the operation base, was officially set up on July 26, 2011. As the only local airline in Tibet, it successfully finished the RNP verification test flight to the five civil aviation airports in the region within the first year of operation. It later has launched flights to all civil aviation airports in the region, and has realized regular night flights in Lhasa. After steady and fast development, in 2017, Tibet Airlines achieved the annual passenger throughput of 4 million person-times, being the newest among the airlines in China, with the most Tibet-related flights and the largest market share of Tibetan civil aviation.

截至目前，西藏航空共开通国际及国内航线60 余条；拥有A319、A320 和A330飞机30余架。预计到2020年，公司机队规模将达到40余架。其中A319、A330客机经过了适航高高原飞行的特殊改装，选装了性能卓越的大功率发动机和稳定可靠的安全设备，进一步提升了高高原飞行的安全性。

So far, Tibet Airlines has launched a total of more than 70 international and domestic routes and has owned nearly 30 aircraft, include Airbus A319, A320 and A330 . It is expected that by 2020, the company fleet will have more than 40 aircrafts. Among them, the A319 and A330 have undergone special modifications for airworthiness of Very High Elevation Flight , and been equipped with excellent-performance high-power engines and stable and reliable safety equipment to further enhance the safety of Very High Elevation Flight.

西藏航空坚持以“建设具有高高原运行特色的、区域型国际化的现代航空运输企业”为市场定位，以拉萨、成都为双主基地运行，以重庆、西安基地为重要支撑，打造以拉萨、川渝、西安为基地的战略布局，并向华东、中南地区快速发展。实现区内外航线相连接、高平原航线相结合、国内国际航线相支撑的航线网络布局。

Tibet Airlines adheres to “building a modern regional internationalized air transport enterprise with Very High Elevation Operation characteristics” as its market positioning. It operates with Lhasa and Chengdu as the two main bases and Chongqing and Xi’an bases as its important supports, so as to build Lhasa-Sichuan-Chongqing-Xi'an strategic base layout. Meanwhile, it rapidly develops in East China and South Central China, to achieve a route network layout where intra-regional and transregional routes connect, high elevation routes and plain routes combine, and domestic and international routes support each other.
